The Man God Exalts

The Man God Exalts

Grace has nothing to do with your ability or effort. It is simply God’s ability working through you, for you and in you. We all have a seed of grace we received by faith at new birth. It is now up to us to grow this grace. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen 2 Peter 3:18. One of the major ways to grow in this grace, to the measure of the fullness of Christ is Humility.

More and more of the Lord’s grace is lavished on the humble (James 4:6). The humble man receives more of God’s working abilities in all aspects of his life which puts him on top at all times. The measure of grace you are enjoying now doesn’t matter, God will still continue to bestow on you more and more grace as you continue to remain humble.

A humble man is a man who submits his will, thoughts and even emotions to God. He walks in obedience to the word of God. Humility is not timidity. A humble man is bold and confident in The Lord.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: And God will exalt you in due time, if you humble yourselves under his mighty hand casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you (1Peter 5:6-7).

A humble man is a person who casts all his cares upon God. He has no cares for himself. A humble person takes no thought of himself; he is completely sold out to God. He only seeks to please God by walking in obedience to His word. A humble man is not a man of fear but a man of faith. He might not like what God is saying, nevertheless he remains submissive in obedience. Abraham is a good example of such a man. When God instructed him to sacrifice his only son, he did not hesitate. In faith, he moved in obedience to the word of God. By reason of his obedience, God lifted him up. Today, all the nations of the earth are blessed because of the humility of Abraham.

Humility is obedience at all cost. It is not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength. Moses, the man God referred to as the meekest man on the earth was a man who always relied on God for what to do. He found so much grace and favour before the Lord that God decided to speak to him face to face (Numbers 12:8).

There are different levels of Grace and until we function with the fullness of the grace of our Lord Jesus, we keep on growing. And humility is the major requirement. It takes humility to enjoy the leading of the Spirit of God. It takes humility to spend more time in prayer and in studying the word. The Lord reveals more truth to the humble man, a humble man is a man of wisdom. His focus is on pleasing God at all times. A humble man never considers himself to have attained, he always seeks to increase in wisdom. A humble man is a man God exalts and bestows more grace upon.
