The death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus is of no relevance to me except for the fact that I was in him when he died, when he was buried and when he rose from the dead.
Easter is not only about the death and resurrection of Christ, but the death and resurrection of the Christian with Christ Jesus.
His death, resurrection and ascension was to us, death to our sin nature, our resurrection to the newness of life in him and our enthronement with him on high, far above all authorities and powers.
For this reason, I can boldly say
'I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body,we live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.' (Galatians 2:20 NIV).
This season, two thousand years ago was when God's intent and mind concerning you and I was perfected. We are now heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ and have been ordained to reign as kings in life (Romans 5:17). Christ is not ashamed to call us brothers, because that's who we are to him.( Hebrews 2:11)
By reason of his triumph over death, we reign over death. By reason of his resurrection and ascension, we are no longer of this world but are now citizens of heaven by blood. We view life from a different perspective; from the viewpoint of Christ. ( John 17:14)
His death on the cross was my death to sickness, poverty and sin. His resurrection imparted me with eternal life; the life of the father. Making me supernatual in kind. His ascension and enthronement was my enthronement and dominion over every issue of life. I thereby live and function like he is on this earth. ( 1John 4:17).
Even as you celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ, make every spiritual effort to live in the aftermath of cross. Hallelujah.
